Academic Paper

If you’re a real Liturgy of the Hours nerd… like the kind that enjoys reading a graduate level academic paper on a narrow niche within the topic, then you’re in luck!

Life has been extra busy lately, so rather than brining you a traditional blog post, I’m sharing an academic paper I wrote that was recently published in the school’s journal of of theology.

This articles covers the impact the new English translation (Second Edition) of the Liturgy of the Hours will have have on Catholic faithful and the American Permanent Diaconate. It was written at a time when nothing had been revealed about the Word on Fire or Ascension Press versions of the Liturgy of the Hours; all I knew at the time of writing this was who was going to be publishing it, what the Psalm translation looked like, etc.

There’s an interesting component in here about the benefits of praying the Liturgy of the Hours.

As a final reminder – this is an academic paper written for a graduate School of Theology and Seminary. It reads very differently than a casual blog post, which is intentional.

Here’s a link to the published article; it’ll actually open a link to a PDF. Second Edition of the Liturgy of the Hours: Impact on the American Diaconate
